United States Coast Guard Auxiliary
5th Coast Guard District
(Sector Hampton Roads)
Division 3, Flotilla 33 Kilmarnock, Virginia
Who We Are: With a roster of
almost fifty volunteers our flotilla is very
active on the Chesapeake Bay and the Rappahannock and Great Wicomico
Rivers adjacent to Virginia's Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. Our members
provide classroom instruction ranging from novice offerings for kids through Boating
Skills and Seamanship to Advanced Coastal Navigation. Local members perform over
1,300 Vessel Safety Checks annually. Several members are qualified as
Watch Standers and augment the active duty staff at Coast Guard Station Milford
Haven, and Sector Hampton Roads station. We are proud of the contributions we have made to
'Team Coast Guard' and boating safety on the Northern Neck of Virginia since 1955. For more about us and the Auxiliary look here.
Where We Meet: We gather for business and fellowship at
7:30 PM on the second Monday of each
month in the activity room of Grace Episcopal Church on Main Street in Kilmarnock,
Virginia. Visitors and aspiring new members are always welcome--they may sit quietly
or participate as they please. The Auxiliary is a uniformed service and most members
wear their uniforms, but at this time of year visitors will be quite comfortable in
informal dress. Check Join Us for a contact if you like,
or just come on your own.

clearly see our local shoals and channels. This is where you gain what old timers call
'local knowledge.' (This picture is Little Bay and the entrance to Antipoison
