What Is The Coast Guard Auxiliary?

Established by Congress in 1939, the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary's nearly 30,000 members are "Semper Paratus" (Always Ready) to support the United States Coast Guard and recreational boating public.

Vessel Safety Checks, safety patrols, safe boating courses, search and rescue, public affairs events, and marine environmental protection are just a few of the many missions our members participate in.

Each year, Auxiliarists volunteer more than two million hours benefiting boaters and their families.

We invite you to explore our website and contact us to learn more about who we are and what we do to be "Semper Paratus".
